Tyendinaga Township Fire Department has issued a full burn ban for all areas within Tyendinaga Township, effective immediately.
The decision has been made due to the ongoing extremely dry conditions and the current heat wave affecting the region.
The township says these factors have significantly increased the risk of wildfires and pose serious threats to property, natural resources, and the safety of the community and firefighters.
Under the full burn ban:
• All open-air burning is strictly prohibited.
• This includes campfires, brush burning, and the use of burn barrels.
• Residents are asked to use caution with any activity that could spark a fire, such as barbecues, machinery, or discarded cigarettes.
