The founder of Burke Funeral Home in Belleville has passed away.
Terry Burke was 81 years old when he passed on Wednesday.
On top of being the founder of Burke Funeral Home, Burke was also a past board member of the Belleville General Hospital Foundation, Rameses Shriners and the Belleville Shrine Club.
Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis released a statement on Burke’s passing.
I am deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of Terry Burke. Terry was an active and proud member of our community, serving on the Belleville General Hospital Foundation Board, Rameses Shriners and the Belleville Shrine Club, in addition to founding Burke Funeral Home. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. On behalf of the City and Council, I extend my sincere condolences to Terry’s family and loved ones during this time
Visitation is set for June 22 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral service will take place on June 23 from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
