This Sunday, June 22, the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation invites the community to Homestead Marketplace for the return of one of the summer’s most spirited events: The Bed Races.
The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with bed decorating and final team preparations, followed by a short parade before the races begin. The races kick off at 10 a.m.
This year, four teams – The Last Responders, Team Pickleball Addicts, Team Scotiabank, and Team Alliance Patient Transfer will race beds to raise funds for new stretchers in the Emergency Room at Trenton Memorial Hospital. You can support your favourite team by donating through our website and all funds go directly to the hospital.
The beds were built by students from the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, then decorated by the teams. The goal is simple – raise funds for stretchers that help hospital staff move patients quickly and safely during emergencies.
The event is free to attend and open to everyone. Vendors and family activities will be on site from 10 a.m. into the early afternoon, with games, sweet treats, and amazing local businesses to enjoy. Furthermore, one dollar from every Classic Beavertail sold on Sunday will be donated back to TMHF.
Come out and watch the races, spend quality time with your family, support local vendors, and support your local hospital.
