Ontario Provincial Police officers have issued charges after an incident in Colborne.
On Wednesday, officers received a report about an incident that had occurred earlier in the week.
When speaking to the victim as part of an investigation, officers saw obvious injuries on the victim.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old female from Colborne was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm, choke suffocate or strangle.
The accused was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.
The name of the accused is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
