Quinte West City Council approved a recommendation to award grants from the Tourism Development Fund to two fishing events set to take place this summer.
The recommendation was approved at council’s meeting on Wednesday.
Grants include $10,000 for the Major League Fishing/Quinte Cup event set to take place from August 22 to 24 and $3,500 for BaitFuel Fishing Tour set to take place from June 27 to 29.
Major League Fishing’s event will take place at Centennial Park at the boat launch.
BaitFuel Fishing Tour’s event takes place at the Robert Patrick Marina Basin.
