Emergency Preparedness | Belleville Fire and Emergency Services will be conducting a test notification of the Belleville Alerts emergency notification system today (Wednesday) between 1 and 2 p.m. Users will receive an automated phone call and/or text message that is marked as a test, indicating that no action is required. To receive the test notification, you must register for Belleville Alerts. Sign up today at Belleville.ca/Alerts.
In the event of a real emergency during the time of the scheduled alert, the notification will state that it is not a test and emergency messaging will be posted to the city’s website and social media channels.
Those unsure of the validity of a notification are encouraged to check these channels and/or local media for confirmation and further details. Belleville Alerts provides users with important emergency information on events such as major fires, significant weather events, shelter-in-place orders and more, via an automated phone call or text message to their electronic device.
