Traffic enforcement leads to multiple charges
On June 14, 2025 at 12:45 a.m., an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle near Hwy 401 and Hwy 62 for a licence plate violation. A check of the driver confirmed that he was a suspended driver. Further investigation revealed a number of violations. The 36-year-old Belleville resident was charged with driving while suspended, operating with no insurance, using plates not authorized for the vehicle, intentionally altering the attached plates, failing to use a proper seatbelt assembly and driving while having cannabis readily available. The accused was issued six summonses with a September court date.
Public Intoxication
On June 14, 2025 at 6:20 p.m., Belleville police were dispatched regarding an intoxicated male who was staggering and causing issues in the neighbourhood as he walked by. Officers located the male and observed that he was heavily intoxicated. The male was arrested for his own safety and transported to the Belleville Police Service. The 63-year-old resident from Jordan’s Station was released on a ticket for being intoxicated in a public place when he was deemed sober.
Arrested on Warrants
On June 14, 2025 at 9 p.m., officers were investigating an incident on Dundas Street East when they observed a male walking who was known to them to have outstanding warrants. A check confirmed the male was wanted on three warrants for failing to attend for court, failing to comply with probation and a bench warrant with a number of other outstanding charges. Brayden Bunnett-Moraga, 23 years old of Belleville, was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
