The Bay of Quinte Men’s Soccer League held its Early Bird tournament this weekend and the outcome had the winner smiling.
Quinte ‘You Make Me Smile’ football club (FC) came back from a two-goal first-half deficit to tie the game and then beat the Trenton Sockers in an exciting penalty shoot out to win the BQMSL Early Bird Tourney at Zwick’s park Sunday afternoon.
Aysar Younes scored the winning penalty kick for Quinte FC and Quinte FC keeper Steve Jones made two penalty kick saves.
This year the Bay of Quinte Men’s Soccer League boasts 26 teams playing across four divisions.
League games continue for Division 1 on Thursday with four games on tap at Zwick’s, and Bain Park in Quinte West.
Division 2 play games on Tuesdays
On Wednesdays, +35 and +45 Masters Divisions play.
