Changes are coming to the Taste of Tweed and Farm to Table events.
Tweed council approved a recommendation to expand the Taste of Tweed event to be held annually while reserving Farm to Table events to special milestone years.
Farm to Table usually takes place in July while Taste of Tweed usually takes place in September.
In a report to council, Manager of Community Development Rachelle Hardesty said that the Taste of Tweed is well-received by residents and visitors, and the department sees strong potential for growth.
Meantime, Farm to Table has faced challenges due to unpredictable weather, and in the event of inclement weather, the municipality does not have a contingency location to accommodate the number of people that attend.
Additionally, due to unforeseen circumstances, the necessary planning and preparation—including growing the food products required for Farm to Table—were not completed in time this year.
