On June 6 at approximately 2:40 p.m. members of the Kingston Police Urban Foot Patrol Unit observed an individual in the downtown area who was known to them and also wanted for a theft at a local downtown business.
The individual was arrested for the theft and a subsequent search of their person revealed a quantity of fentanyl as well as Canadian currency.
The individual was arrested and charged with theft under $5000, possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of proceeds of crime and provided with a future court date.
