The Feed Ontario Leadership awards recognize food banks and individuals who demonstrate strong leadership and community spirit through collaboration, connection, and commitment. Recipients have also fostered a culture of equity both in their own organizations and in the broader food bank network. These awards are presented each year at Feed Ontario’s annual conference, which was held this year in Durham Region, Ontario.
“We are thrilled to honour and acknowledge the exceptional work being done at food banks across our network,” said Carolyn Stewart, Chief Executive Officer at Feed Ontario. “Throughout the province, food banks have risen to the challenge of meeting an unprecedented growth in demand, providing their communities with the healthy food they need. None of this would be possible without the dedication and hard work of food bank staff members and volunteers, along with the donors that support them. Congratulations and thank you to this year’s award winners for your commitment and excellence in service.”

In addition to the food bank’s award, Gleaners Warehouse Manager Keith Poulin was also honoured as a Conscious Collaborator for his positive and unwavering efforts to meet the needs of his colleagues at neighbouring food banks.
“We are incredibly proud of Keith and the entire warehouse team,” said Peter Kerr, Executive Director of Gleaners Foodbank. “This award speaks to the spirit of cooperation and compassion that drives everything we do. It’s about lifting others up so that no one is left behind and doing what we can to improve food security though partnerships with hunger-relieving organizations in our community, our region, and across the province.”
In addition to the Conscious Collaborator award, Keith Poulin was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of the significant contribution his work has made in service of our community.
