Belleville police are investigating a suspicious fire during the overnight hours.
Police received a report of a car on fire in the area of University Avenue at around 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday.
Information provided to police at the time indicated that the fire may have been intentionally set.
Belleville Fire & Rescue attended the scene and successfully extinguished the fire.
No injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation with the assistance of the Belleville Police Forensic Identification Unit, the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Belleville Police Criminal Investigation Division.
