A former councillor, reeve, mayor and warden has been given this year’s Ontario Senior of the Year Award in Tweed.
The award was presented to Joanne Albert at Tweed council’s meeting Tuesday.
Beginning in 2003, Albert served on council in various capacities before stepping down in 2022.
She was also Warden of Hastings County in 2010 and 2011.
During the presentation she was described as having made remarkable contributions while displaying unwavering dedication to the Municipality of Tweed.
The Ontario Senior of the Year Award is given to people who have made significant contributions to their communities after the age of 65.
