A motorist visiting Sandbanks Provincial Park has been charged with impaired driving.
Saturday, shortly before 3 p.m., Prince Edward County OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver at Sandbanks Provincial Park.
Officers located and stopped the vehicle.
Louis Clermont, age 28 of Rosemere, Quebec, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on July 2.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days.
A Prince Edward County resident has been charged following an incident in Wellington.
OPP responded to a disturbance in a parking lot on Wharf Street just before 9:30 p.m. on Saturday which resulted in the arrest of Ashlee Ryan, age 24 of Prince Edward County on charges of:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on June 25.
The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for seven days.
And one person was charged after being stopped during a RIDE program early Sunday on Highway 62 near the foot of the Bay Bridge
A car was stopped and officers administered a roadside test with an approved alcohol screening device. The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing, which showed levels near the legal limit.
The 46-year-old male was issued offence notices for:
- Novice driver with a blood-alcohol level above zero
- G1 licence holder unaccompanied by a qualified driver
- Having an obscured licence plate
The individual’s driver’s licence was suspended for three days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
