Kelly Henderson took part in her first council meeting since being appointed to the councillor role by Belleville City Council.
The council seat was left vacant after now Bay of Quinte MP Chris Malette won his seat in the 2025 federal election.
Council voted in favour of appointing the eighth-place finisher in Ward 1 in the 2022 municipal election, Kelly Henderson (McCaw), to the vacant seat.
On her first day, council approved having Henderson join a number of boards, committees and special committees, most of them left vacant after Malette vacated his seat.
