Quinte West City Council approved a resolution directing city staff to install a commemorative Remembrance Day crosswalk in Trenton and Frankford at its meeting on Wednesday.
The city received a letter requesting the Remembrance Day crosswalks after the City of Belleville implemented their own in 2024.
In a report to council, interim CAO Chris Angelo recommended that a painted crosswalk be installed at the King Drive crossing at the intersection of King Drive and Mill Street in Frankford and one on the brick walkway running between Fraser Park Drive connecting to Quinte Street in Trenton.
The estimated cost to complete the two commemorative Remembrance Day crosswalks is approximately $6,000.
Installation of the crosswalks will coincide with the upcoming line painting work scheduled for this summer.
You can see a template of the crosswalk as part of the report at the City of Quinte West’s website.
