Peterborough OPP have charged a man with assault and impaired driving, after a road rage incident.
On Saturday, shortly after 9 a.m., police responded to a call about two individuals fighting at an intersection on Buckhorn Road.
Officers arrived and spoke to the first driver, who shared their side of the story, before speaking to the second driver. While speaking to the second driver, the officers noticed signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and taken to the Peterborough County OPP detachment.
The accused provided samples of their breath registering over twice the legal limit.
Thirty-nine-year-old Brandon Roach of Buckhorn was charged with operation while impaired, blood alcohol over 80, assault, and driving a vehicle with an open liquor container.
The accused had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, and vehicle impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 8.
