OPP are reminding drivers to move over for emergency vehicles after a driver who failed to do so ended up with several charges laid against him.
Quinte West OPP say a driver failed to slow down or move over as he drove past a cruiser with its lights flashing at the side of the eastbound 401 on the weekend.
The driver was stopped, and testing found the individual was registering more than double the legal limit of alcohol.
The 62-year-old Lanark County man was charged with:
-Impaired driving
-Impaired driving
– blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
-Fail to slow down and proceed with caution for an emergency vehicle
-Driving while under suspension
-Fail to have an insurance card
The individual was released from custody and has a date in court.
Police say motorists need to slow down and move over for emergency vehicles and tow trucks and never drive impaired.
