Construction activity in May in Prince Edward County was a little slower than it was in May of last year.
Last month, 54 building permits were issued with a construction value of $9.7 million.
However, in May of 2024, 75 permits were issued valued at $16.6 million.
Last month, five permits for single-family homes made up over half of the $9.7 million total.
Meanwhile, to the end of May, 231 permits have been issued in the county with a value of close to $47.5 million, down from 312 permits with a value of $56.1 million in the same period last year.
