A Belleville man has been charged in connection with a Belleville police investigation into numerous incidents of harassment and mischief.
Between May 25 and 29, Belleville police received 14 complaints of public mischief, harassment and uttering threats that all appeared to be related.
Examples of the incidents include over 50 fraudulent requests for taxi services, false food deliveries, fraudulent requests for a tow truck, and posting on social media platforms that individuals were in imminent danger, including being held against their will at gun point at specific locations, which required an immediate police response utilizing extensive police resources.
The Criminal Investigative Division led the investigation and was able to identify a suspect.
Saturday, police, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit, executed a search warrant at an address in the city’s west end and arrested 26-year-old Sean Jordan MacDonald.
He is charged with public mischief, mischief, criminal harassment and two counts of uttering threats.
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
