Southeast Public Health says there have been no new measles cases reported in its coverage areas since April 14.
In a report to the Board of Health, Deputy Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ethan Toumishey says that the measles data is up to May 15.
There were 80 measles cases in the region since the spread across Ontario.
Of the 80 cases, 78 were considered unvaccinated. Seventy-eight were also from the legacy Hastings-Prince Edward area. The other two were in the legacy Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington area.
In one case, a person was hospitalized with pneumonia and there have been no deaths reported.
Speaking to the board, Dr. Toumishey said that vaccination remains the primary method of reducing measles exposure and that current immunization rates in the Hastings-Prince Edward area are around 97.2%.
Provincially, there are over 1,800 measles cases as of May 17.
