On Thursday, May 22, members of the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit, with the support of the Emergency Response Unit and Canine Unit, arrested a wanted male who had been evading police following multiple serious criminal offences, including the ramming of police vehicles during an attempted arrest by members of the Gananoque Police Service.
Based on new intelligence, officers located the suspect at a west-end dining establishment in Kingston. A coordinated response led to a brief foot pursuit, after which the suspect was safely apprehended. He was subsequently transported to Gananoque, where he was held for a bail hearing.
Further investigation revealed that the individual was also wanted by the Brockville Police Service on outstanding warrants related to driving and breach offences.
The 33-year-old male suspect was wanted by Gananoque Police for the following Criminal Code offences:
• Assault with intent to resist arrest
• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
• Flight from police
• Fail to comply with probation ×2
• Drive while disqualified ×5
• Mischief over $5,000
• Fail to stop after an accident
