The rupture of a natural gas line closed off a Trenton neighbourhood for close to six hours Tuesday afternoon.
A contractor’s equipment caused the leak on McCann Street, forcing road closures between Sidney and Byron streets.
OPP and firefighters responded shortly before 1 p.m. and evacuated homes in the area.
Enbridge Gas personnel also responded.
Repairs were made and the area was declared safe just after 7 p.m.
