This year’s Fashion for Foundation event raised $19,175 in support of the Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Response Program (DVSARP) at
Trenton Memorial Hospital.
The event took place on May 8 at the Batawa Community Centre and was organized by Sharon Urquhart, a long-time supporter of local healthcare.
Funds raised will help purchase a modern colposcope (used to examine internal injuries) and support the upgrade of a patient room, creating a more comfortable and private setting for those receiving care.
Urquhart said, “Thank you to everyone involved in making Fashion for Foundation such a success on May 8. The record total is proof we live in a very supportive and caring community. See you all once again on May 7, 2026, same place, same time.”
Lindsay Butcher Dodds, Executive Director of TMHF, added, “Thank you to Sharon for organizing this event, and to everyone else who supported. This is such a great way to support the hospital.”
The DVSARP team provides 24/7 acute and forensic care to patients of all genders at Quinte Health hospitals in Trenton, Belleville, Picton, and North Hastings. In the past year alone, the team supported 119 patients, including children, in the days following incidents of sexual or intimate-partner violence.
