Two motorists were charged with impaired driving following separate incidents on the weekend in Prince Edward County.
Saturday, shortly before 11:00 p.m., a Prince Edward County OPP officer observed a vehicle driving erratically.
The officer stopped the vehicle on Main Street and conducted a roadside test with an approved alcohol screening device.
The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
Jeffrey Hounsell, age 62 of Prince Edward County, is charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
On Sunday, shortly before 3:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the Pitt Street area in Picton.
The vehicle was located and officers administered a roadside test with an approved alcohol screening device.
The driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.
Dean Derry, age 28 of Prince Edward County, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Both accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on June 18.
Their driver’s licences have been suspended for 90 days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.
