The Law Society Tribunal has ordered an interlocutory suspension of the licence for Quinte-area lawyer Gregory Edward Brant Castellano.
According to an order dated May 16, a panel with the Law Society Tribunal ordered that the interlocutory suspension begin immediately.
In March 2025, a panel with the Law Society Tribunal accepted that there were reasonable grounds to believe there is a significant risk of harm to the public interest in the administration of justice regarding Castellano’s licence.
The panel had called on both parties to put in submissions on whether there should be an interlocutory suspension or restrictions on the licence.
The Tribunal’s Glossary of Terms states that an interlocutory suspension is an interim measure that can be taken before the start of proceedings leading to a hearing on the merits of the case.
The suspension lasts only until the decision of the panel who hears the merits of the case, at which point the suspension can be either overturned or extended.
