After sending a letter to the Solicitor General of Ontario asking for more funding regarding Court Security and Prisoner Transport (CSPT), the Belleville Police Services Board received a report outlining the deficit it would face.
A report prepared by Belleville police’s Director of Finance, Daniel Ringham, states that the 2025 budget for the CSPT grant was $1,595,800.
BPS was informed on March 21 that the 2025 funding to be allocated from the grant will be $1,378,355.
This leaves a 2025 budget deficit of $217,445.
The board voted to receive the report at its meeting on Thursday.
