Peterborough OPP have arrested a man after a single-vehicle accident.
On Saturday, shortly after 7 p.m., officers responded to the scene of a collision that took place on County Road 6 in Douro-Dummer Township.
Officers were told that a vehicle had entered the ditch, and another vehicle had arrived and was providing the driver transportation. A description of both the driver and the vehicle was provided.
A short while later, OPP officers located the driver and after a short conversation with them, determined him to be impaired. The driver was, at that point, arrested.
Mitchell Holden, age 29 of Oakville, was charged with operation while impaired, blood alcohol over 80, having an open liquor container while driving, failure to report an accident, and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.
He had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough in June.
