Hastings County council will be asked to approve a policy regarding payment of speeding tickets and other Highway Traffic Act infractions levied against county-owned vehicles.
Tuesday, the Finance, Property and Personnel Committee approved a policy that would require that management investigate the tickets trying to determine who the person was that was driving the vehicle.
If found responsible, the employee would be responsible for paying the full cost of the ticket.
The policy will be up for approval at county council’s June meeting.
