Bancroft OPP charged a driver with impaired operation following a collision early Friday in Hastings Highlands.
Just after 2 a.m., police attended the scene of the collision on Musclow-Greenview Road.
Officers located the driver, uninjured, and conducted a roadside test with an Approved Screening Device and then transported them to the detachment for further testing.
Ashley Hicks, a 20-year-old resident of Bancroft, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80) plus
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on June 10, 2025.
Another Bancroft resident was charged during a RIDE program in the Town of Bancroft.
On Saturday, just after midnight, Bancroft OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Monck Street and transported one driver to the detachment for further testing.
Preston Clancy, a 19-year-old resident of Bancroft, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80) plus
- Operation while impaired – alcohol
The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on June 3, 2025.
