Hastings-Lennox and Addington MPP Ric Bresee says they chose to be bold with this budget, protecting Ontario’s people and building the economy internally.
“We’re doing more to provide training, to provide upskill environments, skilled trade development, all of that. We’re spending money to make sure that we continue to build our infrastructure and in doing that we’re supporting our schools, our municipalities, our hospitals and all of that.”
He says the budget will also help create jobs as the province navigates through these challenging times.
Bresee adds there’s plenty for his riding to benefit from with this budget including the continuation and expansion of funding for municipal infrastructure.
“As you know I’ve got 18 different lower-tiered municipalities and they’ve all got their own challenges with roads, bridges, water towers, pipelines, etc. And with this budget we’ve expanded the funding – we’ve done a lot of funding over the last few years.”
He says there will be opportunities for smaller communities to grow their populations and expand their industrial base.
