The Province of Ontario’s budget is allocating money for a new health centre in Trent Hills.
MPP David Piccini spoke to Quinte News about a $2.5 million planning grant for the new Campbellford Memorial Hospital.
Piccini says they are calling it a “Campus of Care” because it will encompass much more than just a new hospital.
Audio Player“With both long-term care, OMNI’s been given additional beds by the Province of Ontario, with the land donation a year or so back from the Curle family, Jim Curle. We now have all the things we need for a brand new hospital and to get the planning underway.”
The 48-acre site, just west of Campbellford, is expected to include a mental health clinic, geriatric assessment, an intervention network, long-term care, an emergency department, supportive seniors housing, and more.
Audio Player“This will be led by the hospital, with oversight from the board … to really look at all the things that are needed to ensure we’re delivering care not just for today, but for what Campbellford’s going to look like 10, 20, 30, 50 years into the future.
