The Kam River Fighting Walleye edged the Trenton Golden Hawks 2-1 in overtime at the Centennial Cup.

The Fighting Walleye opened scoring in the first period, with the Golden Hawks tying the game in the second. After a scoreless third, the teams went into overtime and the Fighting Walleye took a tie-breaking goal to win the round.
Golden Hawks forward David Fournier said that the team needs to refocus before their next game.
“We were good at times, and kind of on our heels for a little bit,” said Fournier. “I think as a whole, we need to be better, and we know that.”
The Golden Hawks gain one point from the overtime loss, which brings them up to a three-point total in the standings. They are tied for first in group A, with the Greater Sudbury Cubs.
The Golden Hawks are back in action on Monday to face the Greater Sudbury Cubs.
