A man was struck by a train late Thursday evening in Belleville.
Rail officials notified the Belleville Police Service that a man had been hit within city limits.
While officers were searching for the victim, police were notified by hospital staff that a man came to BGH indicating he had been struck by a train.
Officers were able to confirm it was a 56-year-old that was struck by the passenger train.
Thankfully he suffered only minor injuries.
He indicated he was looking for his phone and did not realize the train was so close.
