An investigation in Stirling has led to the seizure of drugs, as well as multiple arrests.
A drug trafficking investigation began in April.
On Thursday, East Region Community Street Crime Unit members, the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team members and officers of the Central Hastings Detachment, conducted a traffic stop on Church Street.
Two people were arrested without incident.
Search warrants were then executed at two residences on Church Street, as well as the car the individuals had been in.
More than 100 grams of suspected cocaine, over seven grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and over $700 in cash were seized.
Items typically associated with drug trafficking were also found in the seizure.
Fifty-six-year-old Roy Millen of Stirling-Rawdon Township and 44-year-old Christopher Mathieu of Quinte West have each been charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 8, 2025.
