Prince Edward County has tapped a municipal director to serve as interim CAO.
Effectively immediately, Adam Goheen will serve in the top staff position in the municipality.
Mayor Steve Ferguson made the announcement on Wednesday.
This follows a mutual agreement between Marcia Wallace and The County, that she not continue in the role.
“I have strong confidence that as Interim CAO, Adam Goheen will oversee our organization with great dedication and will provide excellent leadership to County staff as we navigate through this transition period,” Mayor Steve Ferguson says. “Mr. Goheen’s knowledge and experience of Prince Edward County will be invaluable in ensuring the organization continues to effectively serve the community.”
Goheen joined the municipality in July 2020, as the Director of Operational Services, overseeing various municipal services including road maintenance, environmental sustainability initiatives, solid waste services, and winter control.
In January 2024, Goheen was appointed as the Director of Housing, supporting both the Prince Edward County Affordable Housing Corporation Board’s priorities and municipal projects that assist those in need of housing within thecommunity.
Council is now tasked with an extensive search for a new permanent CAO.
