The director of the Special Investigations Unit has determined no criminal offence was committed in a police-involved shooting earlier this year in Camden East.
Lennox and Addington OPP responded to a house in Camden East late on the afternoon of January 17 after an individual reported a male had threatened them with a knife.
From inside the home, the man held a knife in each hand and told officers they were not allowed inside.
Over the course of the next hour or so, the man refused to disarm himself and surrender to police.
Some time later, the man exited the house and walked toward the officers, still in possession of the knives.
Two officers each fired their ARWENS three times, and one fired his semi-automatic pistol twice.
The 41-year-old man was was taken into custody and transported to hospital, where he was treated for bullet wounds to his left torso and left leg.
Through his investigation, SIU Director Joseph Martino determined there were no reasonable grounds to believe that an officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the shooting.
