The following was submitted by Bancroft OPP:
An investigation has led to a drug seizure and arrests in Bancroft.
Bancroft OPP began the drug trafficking investigation earlier this year, working in collaboration with the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit.
On Thursday, May 1, 2025, Street Crime Unit and Bancroft OPP members, assisted by the OPP Tactics and Rescue Team, Emergency Response Unit and the Canine Unit, executed a search warrant at a residence on Moore Lane.
Officers seized suspected fentanyl, suspected cocaine and suspected methamphetamine pills, as well as a firearm and ammunition, cash and cell phones.
Mark Rose, age 43, and Shelly Hogan, age 47, both residents of Bancroft have each been charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Rose is also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 1, 2025.
