UPDATE: Belleville firefighters have extinguished the fire, but remain on site. Belleville police said in a press release that the fire is not considered suspicious and the surrounding roads have fully reopened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
Belleville fire and police are on the scene of a structure fire on Sidney Street.
Multiple fire trucks arrived to find black smoke rising from the site of a new building between Bell Blvd and Tracey Street.
Firefighters are working to battle the fire, which is confirmed to be on the roof.
No injuries have been reported.
Police are requesting that drivers and pedestrians avoid the area as mobility is limited.
