Belleville City Council approved an extension to a draft approval of the subdivision known as the Village of Avonlea.
Council approved the draft plan on May 9, 2022 with a series of conditions that needed to be met, including a condition that the approval would expire on May 9, 2025 if all conditions were not satisfied.
The owners of the property could request an extension within 60 days before the expiration date.
Since the 2022 approval, new owners have taken over the property with a report to council stating that the new owners engaged with an engineering consultant and are currently undertaking a technical review for Phase 1 of the development.
Because of this, staff are recommending a two-year extension of draft plan approval to May 9, 2027.
Council approved the recommendation.
