Hastings County Council has approved adopting a film policy that will be distributed to member municipalities for their consideration and adoption.
The policy will help assist municipalities looking to boost their local economy by allowing television/film productions to film in their area and inject money into their local economies.
It outlines steps required for a film company to make an application for a permit to film on municipally-owned or managed property, including information for production companies, relevant municipal contacts, information required to complete an application, and guidelines to follow, ensuring public safety and well-being.
The newly formed Bay of Quinte Film Office created the policy with the hopes of having as many municipalities as possible within the region adopting it in 2025.
