The Trenton Golden Hawks are halfway to Calgary and the Centennial Cup.
Jaxon Pierce gave the the G-Hawks their only lead of the game at 8:57 of the third period as Trenton downed Milton 3-2 to take a 2-0 lead in the Buckland Cup series.
Pierce was playing in his first game of the post season.
Kyloe Ellis (1st) and Cooper Matthews (11th) also scored and Ryan Sanborn stopped 31 shots.
It’s back to Trenton for Game 3 Wednesday night at 7:30 at the Dunc McDonald Community Gardens.
The Centennial Cup (formerly the RBC Cup) is May 8 to May 18 in Calgary.
