Prince Edward County Mayor Steve Ferguson is facing a no-confidence motion during Tuesday’s council meeting.
Councillor Corey Engelsdorfer is putting the motion forward, due in part to concerns from Wellington residents about the state of ongoing water infrastructure projects in the area.
In the motion, Englesdorfer draws attention to hardships experienced by Wellington residents related to the ongoing water infrastructure projects, which he says would have been mitigated with better communication. He also cites a deteriorating relationship between the mayor and municipal staff.
The motion calls for the mayor to take immediate action to restore confidence in his leadership, including committing to better communication with both council members and residents, along with taking action to reduce the municipal debt load.
