There were a couple of nailbiters in junior hockey playoffs Tuesday night.
In Haliburton, Taeo Artichuk broke a 1-1 tie at 16:10 of the third period to send the Trenton Golden Hawks to a 2-1 win and a 2-0 lead over the Huskies in the OJHL East Conference final.
Tyler Hodges kept the Huskies close with 40 saves. Ryan Sanborn turned away 24 shots for the Golden Hawks.
Jaxon Broda scored his second of the playoffs.
The series returns to Trenton for Game 3 Thursday night at 7:30.
Raiders take 3-0 lead
It was a late night in Napanee but most of the 700 fans went home happy.
Andrew Carr’s second of the game came at 11:17 of the second overtime to give the Raiders a 3-2 victory and a commanding 3-0 lead on the Bowmanville Eagles in the Provincial Junior C East Conference final.
Carr has scored 13 post season goals.
Game 4 is Thursday night in Bowmanville.
