The Central Lakes Association of Realtors has put out their latest sales statistics for the areas they cover.
While the association is reporting an overall growth in sales, the growth is concentrated in the Durham region, with sales falling in Prince Edward County, Hastings County, Northumberland County and Peterborough. The average cost of homes sold also increased.
Hastings County saw a 4.6% increase in the average sales price, climbing from $558,204 in March 2024 to $584,011 in March 2025. The number of sales rose slightly from 143 to 149 over the same time frame.
Northumberland County recorded 102 sales in March 2025, down from 132 in the previous year. The average price increased by 11.7%, rising from $717,908 in March 2024 to $801,717 in March 2025.
Peterborough experienced a slight increase in the average sale price, moving from $682,433 in March 2024 to $693,525 in March 2025. The number of sales declined from 155 to 119, but active listings rose by over 10%, increasing from 225 to 249 over the same period.
Prince Edward County saw a 4.6% rise in the average price, reaching $850,625 in March 2025, compared to $813,527 a year earlier. However, number of sales declined from 30 to 21.
