A 42-year-old Peterborough man is facing charges after an incident Thursday evening.
At approximately 8:25 p.m. on April 3, 2025, officers were called to a business in the Lansdowne Street and The Parkway area regarding a theft in progress.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the man had left the store on a bicycle without paying for a bag of items.
Officers searched the area and located a man matching the description given to police.
Officers returned the stolen items and also learned the man was wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with an appearance notice.
Through investigation it was learned that the man was also wanted in connection with six other theft incidents at businesses in February and March of this year (2025).
As a result, a 42-year-old Peterborough man was arrested on the strength of the warrant and further charged with:
- Theft under $5000 x 7
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, April 4, 2025.
