A 27-year-old Bowmanville woman is facing charges after an incident Thursday evening.
At approximately 8 p.m. on March 27, 2025, Peterborough police received several calls about a vehicle that had hit a stop sign in the area of Lake Street and Aylmer Street, had front-end damage and was being driven on rims. More calls came in about the vehicle being driven erratically on Hwy 115. An officer in the area of County Road 10 and Hwy 115 located two vehicles off to the side of the highway. Upon speaking with the driver of the vehicle that matched the description given to police, the officer noticed signs of impairment.
As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old Bowmanville woman was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
The accused was issued an automatic 90-day licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court May 6, 2025.
