Building activity ramped up in February in Prince Edward County.
The Building Department reports the value of construction last month was $8.16 million.
Thirty-five building permits were issued.
In January, 28 permits were issued with a construction value of $4.18 million.
That brings the year-to-date value to just over $12.35 million.
Last month, permits were granted for eight new homes, including secondary suites.
There were only three in January.
