Belleville police responded to 69 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on March 10, 2025 to 5 a.m. on March 11, 2025.
Domestic Assault
On March 10, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., the Belleville Police Service received a report of a domestic assault which had occurred at a residence in the city’s east end. Police attended and began an investigation. Officers learned that a female victim was assaulted resulting in minor physical injuries earlier in the morning. The male suspect was no longer at the residence. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had an outstanding arrest warrant for an assault on the same victim from a previous incident. Police continued their investigation. At 6:30 p.m., the suspect was observed by officers in the city’s downtown area and arrested without incident. As a result of the investigation, a 62-year-old Belleville man was charged with assault, assault with a weapon and uttering death threats. He was held for a bail hearing.
