The Belleville Senators brought a close to a five-game road trip the way it began. With a loss.
The Hartford Wolfpack defeated the B-Sens 4-1 although it was a much tighter game than the score would indicate as Hartford scored twice into an empty net.
In fact the game was tied 1-1 with three and a half minutes left in the third period.
Jeff Leschyshyn broke the tie with a power play goal at 16:26 of the third period.
Hayden Hodgson (4th) scored Belleville’s lone goal.
Belleville can park their bus for a while as ten of the next 11 games are at the CAA Arena beginning with two against the Bridgeport Islanders this weekend.
Belleville is tied with Syracuse for the final playoff berth in the AHL North with 17 games left in the regular season.

Panthers shock G-Hawks
It might be cliche-ish but the playoffs really are a new season.
Discarding their 42-point differential with Trenton during the regular season, the Pickering Panthers are making a series of it with the league leading Golden Hawks.
Gavin Betts stopped 37 shots as Pickering trimmed Trenton 4-1 to square their OJHL conference quarter final at one.
Cooper Matthews scored for Trenton.
The Golden Hawks narrowly came out on top 3-1 in the opener which included an empty net goal.
Game 3 is Tuesday night in Trenton.
Skunked again
The Stoiuffville Spirit routed the Wellington Dukes 6-0 at Lehigh Arena to take a 2-0 lead in that series.
Kyle Downey posted his second straight shutout stopping 23 Wellington shots. That came off a 34-save shutout in Game 1.
The series moves back to Stouffville on Thursday night.
Raiders in trouble
In the Provincial Junior C East-Tod division semi finals, the Amherstview Jets doubled the Napanee Raiders 4-2 to take a 2-0 lead in that best-of-seven series.
Brad Wilson scored twice and Ethan Fraser stopped 43 shots.
Game 3 is Tuesday night in Napanee.
Deseronto done
The Eastern Ontario Superior Hockey League season is over for the Deseronto Bulldogs.
They lost 7-4 to the Gananoque Islanders and lost the best-of-five series 3-1.
